Hi again! :D
Everything was just fine and we had lots of fun (and buckets of rain, too XD)!
It’s very difficult to resume an eight-day trip, so, expect more than one post -two, maybe three- and lots of photos…
(so you know, I did more than 500 photos AND videos, and that’s just me- there were four of us! But don’t worry, I won’t post them all :P)
First Day:
Flight from Barcelona to Bristol, then we picked up our car (a very cute blue Volkswagen Golf that we nicknamed TARDIS) and went to Bath, to take the waters (any Jane Austen fans out there?). We had a very late lunch (very very late) in Sally Lunn’s (delicious!) and then went to our hotel in Cardiff. It was just in front of the Castle and Bute Park, and my room had a view of the superior part of the Millennium Stadium.
Second Day:
It was raining (so so surprising :P) so we decided to do ‘indoor things’ (sort of) so we decided to go to the Castle (really impressive, and well worth a visit). Afterwards, we walked around Queen St., High St., a couple of the Arcades… The Market, too. In the evening, we went to the Bay… First, the Red Dragon centre (and its Doctor Who Exhibition!) and then, the obvious: the Millennium Centre, the Water Tower (but with no water L), the Plass, the Senedd, the Pierhead Building, the Norwegian church and the Monument to Scott, and of course, the Tourism Office (but no Ianto on sight, sadly).
Third Day:
We went to Dunraven Bay (also known as BLOODY Norway, as Jackie would call it XD). Spent the morning there, because it’s beautiful! There was a Victorian garden up the hill, and took tons of photos. Afterwards, we went to the Tredegar House. Not only is a beautiful Estate, well worth a visit in itself, but there’s the plus that it serves as a location of lots of Doctor Who episodes (and some Torchwood too). The tour of the house was fantastic, and had lots of fun listening to the story of the Family that lived there. The guide, Jenny (or was it Jane?) was hilarious- and she had a trauma when she discovered we were DW fans, but very graciously showed us all the places where they filmed (and something tells me she doesn’t do that, usually. She seemed to enjoy telling us (and showing, of course) more that the usual things… like the artificial snow that’s still on one of the windows of the servants quarters, from this years’ Christmas Special filming… They can’t clean it XD And in the evening, we went back to the Bay and had dinner at the Mermaid Quay :)
And the photos (minus the geeky ones, sorry but that's part II... aka tomorrow!):
